Murray Joins Emirates Team New Zealand

New Zealand sailing team Emirates want to leave no stone unturned to get victory in the upcoming America’s Cup.


After replacing old squad in team with fresh faces, now, Emirate team has called their old horse to guide them.  Emirate team has signed one of the most successful America’s Cup campaigners in the country, Murray Jones. Jones has been hired by the team to provide them the necessary guidance before the beginning of the campaign of 35th America’s Cup.

Jones is America’s Cup winner for five times. He is also the winner of the Auld Mug with Team New Zealand, this happened in year 1995 and year 2000. Emirates Team New Zealand identified him as important figures behind victory of Oracle Team USA’s in the year 2013.  He has critical understanding of the boat and the team and thus he delivers the best result with both of them with water. Festival Of Sails

The Festival of Sails 2017 has opened the entry after the release of the Notice of the Race. The event is presented by Rex Gorell Land Rover and the new additions along with the dates have been outlined. It includes Trailable boat series and Off the Beach.

The Festival of Sails Regatta 2017 is likely to begin from 21st of January to 24th. It separates the bigger festival from the huge crowd Geelong experiences from yet another popular event known as the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. Annalise Murphy In Rio

In the Rio 2016 games the Laser Radial sailing races were completed recently for the women’s and men’s categories. Among the women Annalise Murphy finished in the second position. This was part of the overall results. The Dubliner showed that her preparations that had been diligent and consistent have started to pay off. She competed in race three of the Laser Radial category. This race was held at the Marina da Gloria venue.

Many say that the achievement goes to her diligent preparations for the Rio Olympics. She has spent months at the venue, preparing for the races, backed by Plain Sailing, her kind patrons . Clipper Race – fleet fights across the Bass Strait

The New Year has introduced an all new determination to Clipper Race pack which, after a little stopover in Hobart, is back on the water. They are now raging across Bass Strait in the 6th of this 14 race series.
The race from Henri Lloyd Hobart to Whitsundays Race is just more than sixteen-hundred nautical miles and it is already after a full day of racing it is coming out to be an exciting competition. Diverse maneuver see the squads split between those sailing offshore in an attempt for bonus points at the Scoring Gate as well as those inshore, apparently willing to forfeit the opportunity for extra points so that they can concentrate on a podium finish.
Garmin Skipper Ash Skett told that some yachts have made a grand move for Scoring Gate but for them the concentration is on the end position. The next stopover sees a big changeover for them, as all but one of their leggers is leaving. Two of them, watchleader Mal Anderson and Leo Bowen have been on since London. They really want to take home a winner’s pennant. They really need it and they are going to try to deliver.

Frank Gehry blueprints wooden yacht

Frank Gehry, the world-renowned architect, has accommodated his architectural attainments to seagoing yachts by making his very first yacht. Frank Gehry has showcased the wooden sailing boat he designed for him. Frank worked with German Frers, the Argentine naval architect, to develop the yacht, and the coupe has been working on the yacht since November 2008.

Dubbed Foggy, the vessel is named after Gehry himself, based on his initials F.O.G. and was made by the Brooklyn Boat Yard, known for their skills in wooden boat engineering. The band utilized a cold-moulded structure process and carbon fibre as well as titanium details to assure the ship’s strength might hold up to the architect’s blueprint that included hundreds of glass squares inset in latticework frames both on deck as well as in the ship’s hull. Coast brought forth smooth sailing in 2015

The Coast’s 5 top sailing events – Gulfport-to-Pensacola race, Race for the Case, Junior Lipton, Sir Thomas Lipton Challenge and Knost Regatta – all had different Yacht clubs winning.

Pass Christian Yacht Club succeeded a Coast-best three events – Race for the Case and Knost Regatta. They also caught the season-starting held by Fort Walton Yacht Club, and excel in the Athens Bareboat Yacht Charter mini-series.

They then won the capdevielle class in 78th Knost Regatta. For a record twenty-ninth time, the Pass Christian Yacht Club won the all-women 2-day race. The winning vessel was led by Shelly McNair. Captains were Helen Charbonnet, McNair and Leslie Dane. Commodore Patrick Burns told that it was really a huge win for the team. Continue reading “Coast brought forth smooth sailing in 2015”
